WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Back in 2017, Christina was fresh out of her Textiles degree when she recognised the gap in the market for impactful interiors and Nordic design in the North East. An aesthetic which is much more associated with bigger cities such as London and Leeds, but was severely lacking in the area. From here the Lillian Daph Store was born. Named after Lillian, the crazy Cocker Spaniel, and Daphne, the lovable Golden Labrador- the focus is on unique, artisan pieces and cool Scandinavian design. Working as a hairdresser in a previous life, her passion is client experience and customer service.


In 2018, Christie had begun her Interior Design degree after a lifelong love of all things design and approached Christina about a Saturday girl job (on a Tuesday). People often asked for help styling their pieces or for inspiration to bring their designs to life, so they knew their was a gap in the market, but as a relatively new business and amateur designer, the timing wasn't quite right. Cut to 3 years later, Christina with a now established brand and sister company Little LD, and Christie with her first class Interior Design degree completed and a Masters in Design & Construction under her belt, decided to make their ideas a reality. The rest, as they say, is history!


With her background in creating educational spaces which excite and entice Primary School children, Christie's career stems from an interest in the psychology of design and the way that a space works to improve mental health, wellbeing and lifestyle.


Now in its first year of trading, there are already several exciting projects underway with BIG plans going forward- so watch this space...

WHO WE ARE

We are a small, independent Interior Design Studio with a big heart based in Saltburn, North Yorkshire, in the North East of England. With the added advantage of calling our big sister company the Lillian Daph Store home, you'll find us on the third floor amongst all of the beautiful Scandinavian homewares.


Here at Lillian Daph Interior Design, we are firm believers that a persons surroundings greatly affect their mood, mental health and well-being. At the heart of all of our designs, we aim to ensure that the space works thoughtfully for the user and their needs, whilst being visually appealing.


Our design principles are Identity, Individuality and Impact. We believe that your space should be an extension of you and your brand. This drives our eclectic interior design aesthetic mixing existing and new pieces to create a completely unique design that instantly intrigues anyone who sees it.


We put our heart and soul into everything that we do. We are passionate about enhancing the client experience and are extremely proud to have been awarded the Best of Houzz 2022 badge for our customer service.

CHRISTIE

Christie is the co director and award-winning Interior Designer at Lillian Daph Interior Design. She has a First Class degree in Interior Design and holds a Masters with Distinction in Advanced Home Futures from the George Clarke founded MOBIE Course. She is also an associate member of the SBID (Society British and International Design).

We want your space to work as best as possible for you and your needs and will work with you every step of the way to achieve this.



COMMUNICATION

We will be in contact throughout the duration of your project. Everyone is different and prefers differing methods of communication. You will have access to my email address, telephone number, Whatsapp and Instagram message. We will always aim to respond to your messages within 24 hours for the duration of your project.



CARE

We understand how important your project is to you and it is just as important to us! We will make sure to take every care to ensure that it is of the highest quality and that you are happy with your design.




TERMS & CONDITIONS



We love to take photographs of our projects to use in our marketing for business purposes, including sharing on social media, press, publications, and advertising. We will obviously never disclose the address or any personal information about our clients without their permission. If you do not agree to us taking photos of the space before, during and after the project is complete, please express this to us in writing before we undertake the design process.


If you no longer wish to continue with our services, you can terminate the agreement at any time by notifying us in writing. However, you will be responsible for all outstanding fees and charges incurred to that point.


Occasionally, we might discover that we can offer further services to better suit your needs. If this should be the case, any additional services can be undertaken at an additional cost to be agreed upon by both parties before commencing.


We ask for a 50% deposit before design work begins with the remaining agreed upon costs to be paid within 7 days upon receipt of the invoice after the completion of the shopping lists. All desired items will be purchased through The Lillian Daph Store Ltd. outside of this design package. This package does not include any physical products, but we will assist you in any purchases or ordering that you may require after the finalised design. You are purchasing a design concept using our wide range of high quality suppliers, you are not under any obligation to purchase any of the items which we suggest, but we will work hard to do our best to create a scheme which you hopefully love and wish to purchase everything included to create the full design. We can also order paints from our trade accounts, which are next day delivery if ordered before 3pm, providing that the invoice is paid before we make the purchase,


The brands that we specify are not exclusive to Lillian Daph, therefore are available from other retail outlets, and as such we often get asked to price compare or price match. We are more than happy to compare and match, where applicable. We use recommended retail prices and reasonable margins to make sure that our prices are fair. Sometimes other companies have flash sales or offers which we cannot compete with as a small business, due to running costs and overheads. However, if you have any links to any products which you may have found cheaper, we are happy to investigate and price match if there is a discrepancy once any relevant tax, shipping and processing fees have been taken into account.






Absolutely loved working with LDID, Christie listened to our ideas and used these as inspiration for the colour palette. We wanted a refresh of our boys bedroom with his little brother soon to join but needed to keep key pieces of furniture and carpet. Christie was able to work with our existing pieces and bring together an exciting new concept. Loved the presentation of the mood board as I could really imagine the finished room. Would definitely recommend!
